The Origin Story of The Mushroom Lady

Since I was 13 I always dreamt of going to Australia, I had no idea why.  At the age of 19 I was invited to go to Australia with a family I had become close with, I jumped at the chance. It was on that trip that I was introduced to the feeling of enlightenment. This changed the course of my life. I decided upon that trip that I would go to University. I wanted to save the world!

In order to save the world I thought I should study environmental science. I started volunteering with Greenpeace. I felt like saving the world meant changing the people’s mindset on it. That was very frustrating and depressing when no one had time to talk about their environment. It was very sad so I decided to save the landscape for animals instead as they were unable to stand up for themselves. However It came back around to the people. That’s when I started to gather tools for healing.

I studied ecology and conservation biodiversity at university to masters level, countryside management with the Wildlife Trust, and travelled a lot researching natural medicines. I’ve always seen ecology to consider all things in nature, from the body, the personality, the environment, it’s the nature of all things. I studied Shiatsu, reflexology, herbs, doula and reiki and this evolved my belief to one that the body is a micro version of the earth, we have meridian lines, pressure points and energetic fields and when we are out of harmony with our own environments, this causes dis-ease and sickness. Which seems to surround us every day in the news and in the towns.
